Quick Tip: Filtering Out Cancelled Events Automatically

Ghost events are everywhere

ICS feeds often include cancelled events. The iCalendar spec uses a STATUS:CANCELLED field, but not every calendar provider strips those events from the feed. Tab syncs can pick up cancelled events too, especially when a calendar app shows them with a strikethrough instead of removing them entirely.

The result: your unified view shows meetings that do not actually exist. Worse, these ghost events trigger false conflict alerts. You think you have a scheduling collision, but one of the "conflicting" events was cancelled two days ago.

manyCalendars filters cancelled events at import time. For ICS feeds, it checks the STATUS field and drops any event marked CANCELLED. For tab syncs, it looks for visual indicators like strikethrough text and "Cancelled" or "Canceled" in the event title (both spellings, because the internet cannot agree on one).
